A Note on Parking:

For Sacramento sessions, you will need to have a yearly Sacramento Regional Parks pass, which you can purchase for $70, or pay a $7 daily fee to park. You can visit the Sacramento County Regional Parks website to find out more and to purchase a pass. They also have reduced rate options for low-income families.

For Davis sessions, UC Davis has recently instituted paid parking at the Putah Creek Riparian Reserve. The first hour is free, and each additional hour is $1.25. At this time there isn’t a way to purchase a pass of any kind, so please be prepared to pay $2.50 each week (via their parking app). This only applies to PCRR; not South Fork.

The Folsom group meets at Folsom Lake, which is a California State Park. If you do not already have an annual parks pass, you can purchase one through CA State Parks (including discounted and free options), or you can check one out through your local library.

Our Fall 2025 programs are underway!

We still have room for more families in most of our groups, so please contact us if you’re interested in joining up and we will prorate tuition to your start date!

_____

Our line-up of programs includes 2 sessions in Davis at South Fork Preserve, 2 at William B Pond in Sacramento, and new sessions at Folsom Lake and in the Lincoln/Rocklin area!

Please note that registration for Parent/Child programs is PER FAMILY. This means you only need to register one child, even if you plan to bring more. If you are bringing more than 2 children, please choose the optional add-on “additional child supply fee” for each additional child so we can make sure to have enough supplies for everyone!

Tuition for the season is $385*

*If you are using homeschool charter funds, you will pay a $25 deposit to register, and request the remaining $360 from your charter.

Reparations & Tuition Assistance

We have a few opportunities to offer tuition assistance for families with financial need (please contact us in advance to apply and receive the coupon code!).

We offer a discounted reparations rate of 40% off standard tuition to families identifying as Black and/or Indigenous to North America, regardless of financial need. You will find the reparations code in the session description on the registration site.

Please note that tuition assistance cannot be combined with the use of homeschool charter funds (but the reparations rate can).

Homeschool Charter Funds

If you are with a homeschool charter, you should be able to use their funds for all of our programs except Dragonfly Teen Naturalists.

We are currently vendors with the following charters:

  • Clarksville
  • Compass
  • Cottonwood
  • Feather River
  • Harvest Ridge
  • Heritage Peak
  • Horizon
  • South Sutter
  • Sutter Peak
  • Visions in Education*

If you are with a different charter school and would like to request that we become vendors with them, please get in touch!

In order to use charter funds, we require a $25 deposit when registering, which gets subtracted from the amount you request from your school. This deposit serves as the cancelation fee should you cancel.

Each class has a coupon code that you can use to check out in the registration system without paying tuition beyond the $25 deposit. If you use this code, we will expect to receive a purchase order or service voucher within 5 business days of your registration. (Fall season is the only exception, as most charters are not yet open for funding requests at the time registration opens. In this case we expect to receive your purchase order or service voucher before the start of the season.)

The coupon codes for using charter funds are as follows (they are also listed in the registration system under "view more details" for each class option):

Homeschool program: HSCFDAY

After-school program: HSCFPM

Parent/Child program: HSCFPC

Using charter funds for Little Coyotes Forest Kinder is a more complicated matter, so please get in touch with us if you want to do this!

Once you have registered with the coupon code and paid the $25 deposit, just subtract $25 from the total tuition and request that from your charter school. If you are receiving a reparations-based rate, make sure to factor that in as well.

*limited to certain programs only. Please reach out if you are with Visions in Education.

Cancelations & Refunds

Please read carefully, as our cancelation policy has recently changed.

If you cancel your registration within 4 weeks of the start of the season, you will be refunded in full, minus a $25 cancelation fee. If you cancel less than 4 but more than 2 weeks before the start of the season, you will be refunded 50% of the tuition, minus the $25 cancelation fee. There will be no refunds for cancelations starting 2 weeks before the first day of the season.

For example: The Winter season begins on 1/5. In order to receive a full refund your last day to cancel is Sunday, December 7th. If you cancel between Monday, December 8th and Sunday, December 21st, you will receive a refund of 50% of the total tuition minus the $25 cancelation fee. If you cancel on or after Monday, December 22nd, we will not be able to offer a refund.
